Welcome to Cape Breton!
Liz and Dick Grubb are tagged as CFA's around here, meaning "Come From Away". In fact, they come from another Island - on Canada's West Coast. Liz's background is the Hospitality Industry and Dick is retired from a career as a CGA. As owners/operators of the Baddeck Heritage House, they are enthusiastically embracing a new adventure of life here and loving it. In fact, curling has become something of an addiction during the longish Maritime winter months!
Let's not forget a very important member of the family, FINELLA, a tortoiseshell cat who braved the move from Victoria, BC to Baddeck in Victoria County, Cape Breton and has settled in very well, thank you! PLEASE BE ADVISED: Finella is an indoor/outdoor cat and loves climbing up on laps, a habit that may render our home unfavorable to anyone who suffers from allergies to cats.
MISSION STATEMENT:
"Our home is your home away from home"
IN APPRECIATION:
Liz & Dick wish to acknowledge the enormous support they've received from friends and family whose encouragement has made this adventure all the sweeter.
Special thanks to :
Allan Barton, adopted brother and best bud:
"for coming to Cape Breton and making sure we were prepared. Your flair and creativity, advice, recipes, the church pew - all that stuff has woven magic"
UK Family: Lindy & Terry, Sheena & Dennis, Margaret:
"for coming to Cape Breton and helping build the dream, right down to the planting of beans & peas and weeding the garden!"
Community of Baddeck:
"for your incredibly warm welcome! We're now proud Baddeckers, CFA's or not!"
